Open House in Villa Skeppet 1.2.2025, 11-15

Come and visit Villa Skeppet in Tammisaari, Raseborg. Alvar Aalto designed Villa Skeppet as a gift for his close friend and biographer Göran Schildt and Göran’s wife, Christine. Here, you can explore many themes that Alvar Aalto developed during his career.

The house was renovated in 2019–2020, with only essential measures undertaken, and has been preserved almost in its original condition. The building is not only an architectural masterpiece but also a result of the friendship between Alvar Aalto and Göran Schildt.

Admission is free, but please be prepared for possible waiting times. Welcome to experience a unique architectural gem!

The program is part of the National Architecture and Design Days, which will take place from January 31 to February 7, 2025. The highlight of the week is the flag day on February 3, when Finland’s flags will be raised to honor Alvar and Aino Aalto and Finnish architecture and design.
