Tarjoamme opastettuja kierroksia
Nykyään Villa Skeppetin omistaa Christine ja Göran Schildtin säätiö, joka myös järjestää opastettuja kierroksia kodissa. Opastuksen aikana vierailija saa tutustua kirjailijakotiin, Alvar Aallon arkkitehtuuriin sekä Välimeren tunnelmiin. Göran Schildt ja Alvar Aalto olivat hyviä ystäviä, ja rakkaus Välimeren kulttuuria, luonnonmaisemia ja sivilisaatioita kohtaan yhdisti heitä.

Alkuperäiseltä nimeltään Villa Skeppet oli Villa Schildt, mutta pian tammisaarelaiset antoivat sille nimen ”Laiva”. Västra Nyland kirjoitti 13.1.1971: ”Sekä sisältä että ulkoa saa vaikutelman laivankokasta, joka kohoaa kohti Tammisaaren eteläistä lahtea. Arkkitehtuuri
Rakennuksen arkkitehtuurissa on otettu huomioon Göran Schildtin rakkaus purjehdukseen ja Välimeren kulttuuriin. Rakennuksen leimaa-antavin piirre on olohuoneen purjeenkaltainen katto, joka sitoo rakennuksen kaksi eriluonteista osaa toisiinsa. Alvar Aalto
Göran Schildt tutustui Alvar Aaltoon jo opiskeluaikoinaan. Alvar Aalto toimi tuolloin puheenjohtajana Projektio-elokuvakerhossa, johon myös Schildt liittyi. He eivät tuolloin kuitenkaan pitäneet tiiviimmin yhteyttä. Schildtistä ja Aallosta tuli hyviä ystäviä vasta useita vuosia myöhemmin, vuonna 1953.

Lääkäri Oskar Mustelin rakennutti Daphnen Turun veneveistämöllä vuonna 1935. Jarl Lindblomin suunnittelema Daphne oli alun perin kuunari, mutta Mustelinin myytyä veneen tammisaarelaiselle johtajalle Uno Tennbergille tämä muunsi sen ketsiksi. Over the past two weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming school groups from all over Raseborg to Villa Skeppet. As part of the city’s plan for cultural education, all seventh-grade students in Raseborg take part in these visits.
During their visit, they explored the house through a guided tour and took part in a sketching task, capturing a detail or view they loved and sketching it on a sheet of paper.
